Company Adds to Existing U.K. Presence

LIMA, Ohio, Dec. 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — MetoKote Corporation, the world leader in advanced coating technologies, announced today the acquisition of Malcolm Enamellers ACP Limited (Malcolms), a leading coating company in Wednesbury, United Kingdom, in the Greater Birmingham area.

Malcolms is a wholly owned subsidiary of MetoKote Corporation, and will operate under the name Malcolm Enamellers ACP Limited.  Similar to MetoKote's background, Malcolms began operations in a small garage in 1946 and has steadily grown as a result of executing a highly customer focused strategy and by offering innovative solutions in the UK coatings industry.  A formerly family owned business with 180 employees, the new facility brings with it a well-respected reputation for quality coating services in the United Kingdom.  Malcolms primarily serves the major automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) and other agricultural & industrial markets.

Malcolms currently houses two electrocoat lines that can process parts up to 10 ft. (3 meters) and up to 1100 lbs. (500Kg,) and a dual purpose system providing powder coat and wet paint capabilities.  Malcolm's is accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 quality standards by BSI and has their own in-house testing laboratory.  To facilitate the logistics services for their customers, the company also operates its own fleet of trucks to support just-in-time services with its strategic customers.

MetoKote has had a presence in the United Kingdom since 1997 when it purchased Pegasus Phosprime Limited in Daventry.  This was MetoKote's first facility located outside the United States, and since that time we have added additional facilities in the UK as well as facilities in Canada, Mexico, Germany, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

“We are thrilled to have Malcolms as part of the MetoKote family and to expand our footprint in the UK market,” stated Jeffrey Oravitz, President & Chief Executive Officer for MetoKote Corporation.  “Malcolms complements our existing footprint in Daventry very well and further builds upon our position as the global market leader in protective coating services.”
