At Platinum, we make it a priority to identify opportunities to address critical challenges facing those in need and work diligently to make significant contributions to advance progress in community, social, arts, and health-related causes.

Our sponsorships reflect our dedication to supporting the communities in which we live and work, as well as a philosophy of working collaboratively with our employees and business partners. Some of our contributions are inspired by the personal passions of the firm’s founders, others by issues that touch the men and women at Platinum and our portfolio companies.

In each case, it’s part of our long-term commitment to promote positive, lasting change.

Highlights of Platinum’s
Philanthropic Efforts:

Developing Stronger Communities
Communities are the foundation of a sustainable future, and the local causes that we support have a major impact on wide-ranging issues. We support community organizations such as the Salvation Army, the Junior League of Los Angeles, Human Rights Watch, inMotion, Kaboom!, the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition, PATH Regional Homeless Center, Help Funding, and the Beverly Hills Firemen’s Association. We also participate in "Power Women, Power Tools," an annual, invitation-only, all-woman build event hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, where women of all walks of life come together to build homes for families and individuals in need of simple, sustainable, and affordable housing.

Improving Educational Opportunities
We believe in the importance of educating and developing future leaders that will in turn elevate society through their work. Our support of organizations such as the Hawn Foundation, the Children’s Success Foundation, and Communities in Schools promotes this initiative.

Inspiring Through the Arts
The arts inspire and uplift, motivating people toward more creative achievements. Our involvement with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Kennedy Center, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, and the New England Center for the Performing Arts aims to bring inspiration to an even wider community audience.

Health issues touch families in unexpected and often devastating ways. We support organizations such as the American Cancer Society, the Cedars-Sinai Medical Genetics Institute, the Tourette Syndrome Association, the Anaphylaxis Network, the Keep a Child Alive Foundation, the Pink Rose Foundation, We Spark, and the Heart Foundation that work to treat, ease, or cure both prevalent and little-known conditions.

Making a Difference in the Lives of Children
Organizations that enrich the lives of children are especially close to our hearts. To this end, we support Special Olympics of Southern California and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in the Gores’ home state of Michigan, as well as the World Childhood Foundation which works to give marginalized children a happy childhood. We also support AYSO Youth Soccer, because we believe that organized sports is critical to developing childhood confidence, teamwork, and fitness.
