Jacob Kotzubei

Jacob Kotzubei is co-president of Platinum Equity and a member of its Investment Committee. Among his responsibilities, Mr. Kotzubei leads the investment team for the Los Angeles headquarters and has oversight responsibility for the investment team in Asia. In addition, Mr. Kotzubei plays an active role in the management of the firm’s day-to-day activities as well as its strategic direction.

Dan Krasner is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. As a member of the operating council for portfolio companies, he also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of add-on and divestiture transactions.

Prior to joining Platinum in 2003, he spent five years in the mergers and acquisitions group of Paul Hastings.

Mr. Krasner received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California San Diego and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell University Law School.

Melissa Lawson is Platinum Equity’s Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the compliance program.

Ms. Lawson joined Platinum Equity in 2019. She previously was Senior Director at Fitch Ratings, Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, and AGC, CCO and Corporate Secretary at Annaly Capital Management’s broker-dealer and registered investment advisor.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Central Connecticut State University, a Juris Doctor from American University and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.

Grace Lee provides in-house counsel on legal affairs for the firm and its portfolio companies, with an emphasis on supporting the firm’s data privacy compliance efforts and human resources and marketing teams.

Prior to joining Platinum in 2020, Ms. Lee was Associate General Counsel at Incora (formerly Wesco Aircraft). Before Incora, she spent four years in the mergers and acquisitions group of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Lee holds a BA in Business Administration and Information Systems from the University of Washington, an MSc in Analysis Design and Management of Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a JD from the University of Chicago Law School.

Jon Lee is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. He also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at select portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2018, Mr. Lee worked at H.I.G. Capital, where he was focused on growth investments in technology and healthcare. Prior to H.I.G., Mr. Lee worked in the investment banking division of Jefferies.

Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the College of William & Mary.

Stella Lee is responsible for managing the transition of newly acquired companies into Platinum Equity’s portfolio. She also has responsibilities related to post-transition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at certain portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2019, Ms. Lee was an independent consultant and held positions at AlixPartners, Accunomics and Deloitte.

Ms. Lee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer System Engineering from the University of Birmingham.

Johnny O. Lopez is a founding partner of Platinum Equity and remains instrumental to the firm's ongoing evolution. He is a member of Platinum's Investment Committee, continues to actively pursue significant M&A transactions across multiple industries, mentors, transaction teams, and is increasingly involved in the firm's business development efforts. Mr. Lopez is also a lead sponsor of Platinum's investment in public securities for control.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2008, Mr. Louie was an investment professional at American Capital Strategies, a middle-market focused private equity firm. Prior to American Capital, Mr. Louie worked in venture capital and growth equity at both Canaan Partners and Agilent Technologies, as well as in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Daniel Madden is based in London and leads the Portfolio Operations team in Europe. He is responsible for managing the transition of newly acquired companies into Platinum Equity’s portfolio. He also has responsibilities related to post-transition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at our European headquartered portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity Mr. Madden worked at Marakon Associates in London and New York.

Mr. Madden holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.

Wouter Mak

Wouter Mak is a member of the Investor Relations team, based in London and is responsible for global functions connected to capital raising, fund administration and investor relations.

Prior to joining Platinum in 2024, Mr. Mak was a member of the senior leadership team at the Private Fund Group of Credit Suisse, where he served as a managing director and co-head of EMEA. Before joining Credit Suisse in 2009, he worked at Robeco Alternative Investments and Aegon Asset Management.

Mr. Mak holds a M.Sc. in Economics & Business from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
