Tom Gores founded Platinum Equity in 1995 and his guidance, core philosophies and strong principles drive the strategic development and direction of both the firm and its portfolio.

Early in his career, Mr. Gores was an active investor in smaller businesses, where companies often trade principally on their good word and ability to follow through on what they promise. Here he developed his principles of empowerment, hard work and integrity. As he delivered on commitments made to deal partners, investment bankers and lenders, Mr. Gores' ability to continually execute larger transactions grew exponentially and made Platinum Equity one of the premier private equity firms in the world, landing on Forbes "Largest Private Companies" within four years of being founded.

Benjamin Hunt is responsible for financial due diligence and supports the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2011, Mr. Hunt held positions at RSM and KPMG.

Mr. Hunt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance and Accounting) from Trinity University and a Master of Accounting from the University of Southern California.

Drew Karklin is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. He also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at select portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2018, Mr. Karklin held positions at The Sterling Group, and Deloitte.

Mr. Karklin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Indiana University.

Max Koesler is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. He also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at select portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2013, Mr. Koesler worked at JP Morgan and Macquarie Capital.

Mr. Koesler holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Southern California.

Jacob Kotzubei is co-president of Platinum Equity and a member of its Investment Committee. Among his responsibilities, Mr. Kotzubei leads the investment team for the Los Angeles headquarters and has oversight responsibility for the investment team in Asia. In addition, Mr. Kotzubei plays an active role in the management of the firm’s day-to-day activities as well as its strategic direction.

Dan Krasner is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. As a member of the operating council for portfolio companies, he also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of add-on and divestiture transactions.

Prior to joining Platinum in 2003, he spent five years in the mergers and acquisitions group of Paul Hastings.

Mr. Krasner received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California San Diego and a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell University Law School.

Jon Lee is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. He also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at select portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2018, Mr. Lee worked at H.I.G. Capital, where he was focused on growth investments in technology and healthcare. Prior to H.I.G., Mr. Lee worked in the investment banking division of Jefferies.

Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the College of William & Mary.

Matthew Louie is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. He also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at select portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2008, Mr. Louie was an investment professional at American Capital Strategies, a middle-market focused private equity firm. Prior to American Capital, Mr. Louie worked in venture capital and growth equity at both Canaan Partners and Agilent Technologies, as well as in investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Aaron Mazzolini is responsible for the structuring and execution of divestiture transactions as part of Platinum Equity’s dedicated sell-side team.

Prior to joining Platinum in 2002, Mr. Mazzolini was an executive at Paradigm Talent and Literary Agency where he managed transactions on behalf of the firm.

Mr. Mazzolini holds an undergraduate degree from Ohio University.

Scott McCarthy is responsible for financial due diligence and supports the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. As a member of the operating council for certain portfolio companies, he also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of financial performance.

Prior to joining Platinum in 2001, he spent seven years with Ernst & Young’s Transaction Support and Audit groups.

Mr. McCarthy received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
