Prior to joining Platinum in 2001, he spent seven years with Ernst & Young’s Transaction Support and Audit groups. Mr. McCarthy received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Colin McDonald is responsible for managing the transition of newly acquired companies into Platinum Equity’s portfolio. He also has responsibilities related to post-transition monitoring and oversight of operational performance of several portfolio companies. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2017, Mr. McDonald served as a Vice President at AlixPartners where he focused on restructuring, performance improvement, and acquisition integration strategies for private equity portfolio companies across a variety of industries. He has also held positions at G.E., JPMorgan and AllianceBernstein. Mr. McDonald holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Economics from Colgate University.

Phil Norment is a member of Platinum’s Investment Committee and is a senior advisor on specific operational initiatives throughout the portfolio. He is also the senior executive responsible for evaluating acquisition opportunities and integrating new acquisitions into the portfolio. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 1997, Mr. Norment served in a variety of management positions at a major software corporation. Over the course of 12 years, he worked in the areas of global support, operations, consultative services and sales support, achieving the position of chief operating officer. Mr. Norment earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
