As a member of Platinum Equity’s M&A Operations team, Aloysius Sin is responsible for performing commercial and operational due diligence on potential acquisition targets and for developing post-acquisition transition and value creation plans. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2016, Mr. Sin worked at GIC and Bain & Company. Mr. Sin holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Jamie Smith is a member of the Credit team at Platinum Equity and oversees non-investment operations. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2019, Mr. Smith was most recently a Managing Director at Benefit Street Partners, where he held multiple roles including Portfolio Manager of Collateralized Loan Obligations. He was also responsible for structuring and executing fund financings and helped build an institutional quality infrastructure. Mr. Smith holds a BA in Business Administration from Baruch College and an MBA from Fordham University.
Kevin P. Smith is Head of Debt Capital Markets and is responsible for all debt capital placement and related corporate finance activity for new and existing portfolio companies. Mr. Smith helps manage the firm’s relationships with capital providers around the world and spearheads financing transactions related to leveraged buyouts, refinancings and recapitalizations using High Yield, Senior and Junior Debt, and ABL structures. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2010, Mr. Smith was a senior leverage finance banker with Wells Fargo, Mellon, UMTB Group, and First Chicago/Bank One. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Butler University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the USC Marshall School of Business.
Jordan Stone is responsible for business development activities focused on identifying new acquisition opportunities. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2016, Mr. Stone was a Vice President at OpenGate Capital. Mr. Stone holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of Southern California.
Jamie Tam is responsible for business development activities focused on identifying new acquisition opportunities. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2016, Ms. Tam worked in Financial Sponsors at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Leveraged Finance at Goldman Sachs. Ms. Tam holds a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Irvine and a Master of Business Administration from University of Chicago.
Malik Vorderwuelbecke is responsible for the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. He also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of operational performance at certain portfolio companies. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2012, Mr. Vorderwuelbecke worked at Englefield Capital, a pan-European private equity firm and UBS Investment Bank. Mr. Vorderwuelbecke holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Finance from NYU Stern School of Business and a Master’s in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Dawn Walloch is a member of the firm’s in-house tax department and is responsible for addressing tax issues relating to the firm’s M&A activities as well as the operations of the firm’s portfolio companies. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2004, Ms. Walloch held positions at PWC, Ernst & Young, and Warner Bros. Ms. Walloch holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a Masters of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University, Los Angeles.
Robert Wentworth participates in senior level merger and acquisition activities for Platinum Equity and is a member of the Investment Committee. Mr. Wentworth was previously President and Chief Executive Officer for the North American operations of Platinum portfolio company NextiraOne, where he led its formation and served as its CEO since its inception in 2001. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 1997, Mr. Wentworth was President and Chief Executive Officer at Alden Electronics, Inc. where he also served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Mr. Wentworth served as a certified public accountant for fourteen years with Ernst & Young. Mr. Wentworth grew up in Massachusetts and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Bentley College.
Dan Whelan is responsible for corporate communications, marketing and media relations, and provides support for certain investor relations functions. Mr. Whelan joined Platinum Equity in 2008. He previously held positions at Amgen, Burson-Marsteller, and Fleishman-Hillard. Mr. Whelan holds an undergraduate degree from Miami University.
David Wolf is responsible for financial due diligence and supports the structuring and execution of acquisition and divestiture transactions. As a member of the operating council for the New York team’s portfolio companies, he also has responsibilities related to post-acquisition monitoring and oversight of financial performance. Prior to joining Platinum Equity in 2009, Mr. Wolf held positions at Ernst & Young and Crowe Chizek. Mr. Wolf holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois (license currently inactive).
